Smoky Sazón Citrus

Smoky, citrus-bright, garlicky and golden with cumin-coriander depth and a light chile finish.

This smoky sazón-style blend can flavor a rice or bean base before fresh toppings are added. Keep the first application modest if using stock or other salty ingredients. A final squeeze of citrus supplies a fresher contrast than simply adding more dry seasoning.

Rice, beans, roasted vegetables, pork, chicken, tofu, soups and one-pot meals.

1 teaspoon per cup of dry rice to begin.

Add during cooking to rice, beans and soups, or toss with vegetables and oil before roasting.

Use this amount as a starting point for flavor, then adjust to your food and taste. If other ingredients bring salt, sweetness or heat, account for those before adding more seasoning.

Cook 1 cup rice with 1 teaspoon seasoning and its usual liquid. Fold in cooked beans and peppers, then rest and fluff. Finish with cilantro and lime to taste, keeping extra sauce optional.

This proprietary blend uses smoke and orange rather than relying on annatto or artificial color.
