Flavor & cooking character
Bright, citrusy, peppery and savory.
Lime pepper is useful when a dish needs a dry citrus-and-pepper layer. It does not automatically provide the same acidity as fresh lime juice. Add it evenly, taste with the full meal, and adjust the fresh citrus separately.
What to cook
Fish, shrimp, chicken, avocado, corn, potatoes and roasted vegetables.
How much to use & when to add it
1/2 teaspoon per cup of food.
Use this amount as a starting point for flavor, then adjust to your food and taste. If other ingredients bring salt, sweetness or heat, account for those before adding more seasoning.
Kitchen idea: Lime pepper corn salad
Toss 1 cup cooked corn with diced cucumber, 1/2 teaspoon seasoning and a little olive oil. Add scallion and taste before adding lime juice. Serve promptly or refrigerate until needed, then stir before serving.
