Flavor & cooking character
Fiery, sweet and smoky with notes of herbs and citrus.
This is a sweet interpretation of a chile-led peri-peri flavor family. Use controlled heat during cooking so the honey character does not scorch. The blend can season a sauce, but it does not supply the liquid or acidity of a complete marinade.
What to cook
Chicken, rice, seafood, cheese, tofu, vegetables, sauces, marinades, dressings and dips.
How much to use & when to add it
1/2 teaspoon per two servings to begin.
Use this amount as a starting point for flavor, then adjust to your food and taste. If other ingredients bring salt, sweetness or heat, account for those before adding more seasoning.
Kitchen idea: Honey peri-peri chickpeas
Warm a drained can of chickpeas with 1/2 teaspoon seasoning, a little oil and water. Toss until coated and serve over rice with tomato and cucumber. Add fresh lemon only after tasting the finished mixture.
