Sweet & Savory Pork Blend

Fruity, sweet, tart and aromatic.

Sweet and savory notes work best when neither masks the food. A thin coating can complement browned pork, potatoes or squash without a heavy sauce. If the dish feels too sweet, add a tart side or a little acid rather than more savory seasoning indiscriminately.

Pork chops, pork tenderloin, turkey, chicken, beef, tofu, beans, lentils, carrots, potatoes, rice, onions and corn.

1 teaspoon per pound of food.

Use this amount as a starting point for flavor, then adjust to your food and taste. If other ingredients bring salt, sweetness or heat, account for those before adding more seasoning.

Roast 1 pound squash and onion pieces with oil and 1 teaspoon blend at 400°F until tender. Finish with cider vinegar after tasting and serve over plain lentils or rice.
