How much to use & when to add it
Start with 1 tablespoon per 4 cups popcorn or 1 teaspoon per cup of sauce.
Toss over lightly oiled snacks or whisk gradually into a warm sauce.
Use this amount as a starting point for flavor, then adjust to your food and taste. If other ingredients bring salt, sweetness or heat, account for those before adding more seasoning.
Kitchen idea: Savory yeast popcorn
Toss 4 cups warm popcorn with 1–2 teaspoons oil. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast in two stages, tossing each time. Add black pepper and taste before adding salt; use a little more oil only if the flakes are not adhering.
